USA Spends Big For Hits PDF Print E-mail

USA Network (part of the NBC Universal family), whose ratings have been climbing, licensed 11 film titles from Universal Pictures at the cost of $60 million, according to a report in the Hollywood Reporter.

Films include the recent hits "The Bourne Ultimatum" ($69.3 million in its first weekend) and "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" ($91.8 million since July 20th).  Chuck & Larry rights begin December 2009, while Bourne will not be available until January 2010.

Other titles include in this deal:  "The Hitcher," "Alpha Dog," "Smokin' Aces," "Children of Men," "The Good Shepherd," "Breach," "Ali G Indahouse," "The Interpreter" and "Man of the Year."

USA has also recently acquired rights to "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", "Ocean's Thirteen", "Blood Diamond" and "License to Wed."
