Online gaming is getting a much-needed dose of style—fashion style that is.
Vogster Entertainment LLC, a specialist in video game design and content, has announced its partnership with Ecko Unltd. This will allow for a product placement of the clothing line in the upcoming video game, Crimecraft.
The urban fashion maker has been influencing style in major cities since the 1990s. Now, users will be able to use Ecko apparel in the world of Crimecraft to add more authenticity to the game.
Players who purchase the game from Best Buy will be able to unlock an Ecko t-shirt for their in-game avatar. And those that pre-order through Best Buy will receive a pair or virtual Ecko sneakers for their in-game characters. Other Ecko apparel that will be available in the game include: hoodies, jeans, and additional t-shirts
“Marc Ecko has a deep passion for video games and we at Ecko Unltd. are stoked to be able to outfit some of the gritty, cool characters in a revolutionary genre-crossing title like CrimeCraft,” said Marc Fernadez, VP of Marketing for Ecko Unlimited. Many times in-game advertising and in-game apparel take the player out of the experience. In this case, the brands are made for each other and players will be able to equip their character with the very same real-world apparel they choose to wear.”
Mario Kroll, director of marketing for Vogster, said that Mark Ecko is synonymous to cutting edge designs and stylish urban looks. He said, “Given the theme and setting of CrimeCraft, incorporating Marc Ecko’s apparel and brands is a natural fit and helps draw the player deeper into the story with cool character clothing reflecting an increase in reputation and influence in the game.”
CrimeCraft will land on PCs on August 25, 2009.
