Scene from Easy to AssembleIkea’s move into branded entertainment has paid off!

Last week, Illeana Douglas independent series titled Easy to Assemble debuted on YouTube.  The show was a success – attracting nearly 250,000 page views. That’s why television network CBS has decided to acquire the rights of the Ikea-sponsored series.

We all know Ikea as the renowned maker of modern furniture. The Swedish decorating company has a host of product placements in the series. As described by Maria Russo from the LA Times, You can look at it as a commercial with a show inside, or a show wrapped around a commercial… CBS will air the series through their Web and mobile sites, making it TV.coms first original show.
