L Word and Showtime open the door for Product Placement

L Word Ilene Chaiken has convinced host-network Showtime to open the door to advertising.

Before this deal, Showtime was strictly a commercial-free channel And viewers paid extra for this. However, in a recent report from Oregon Live, it was claimed that a deal was already established by L word, Showtime and some undisclosed brands.

For $300,000, advertisers products will be integrated into the L word script.

However, speculators have voiced some concerns, claiming that the pressure to integrate branded products into the plot might harm the shows creativity.

While as of press time, there are no updates about deals with advertisers.

Our best bet is to tune into L word. If you see branded products flailing around the screen you already know how the deal went.
