Yes, the pizza-eating, sword-fighting, nun-chuck swaying turtles are back on television. The new series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Back to the Sewer will debut this October different channels for different countries.
This season has 13 half-hour episodes that are all about the artist-named turtles. The concept was revived by 4Kids Entertainment (NYSE: KDE), in line with the iconic cartoons upcoming 25th anniversary in 2009 (Maybe, theyre setting up something big for this one.)
Networks that have acquired the rights to the series are as follows: CiTV in
UK, Alter in
Greece, DRTV in
Denmark, MTV3 in
Finland and RTE in
Ireland.
Accompanying main characters Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael are fan favorites: Master Splinter - the sushi-eating karate expert, April the news reporter who is one of the turtles closest friends and Casey the hockey-masked phantom who has a penchant for doing good things in the bad way. Producers are also promising to introduce a new villain: Cyber Shredder!
